Last night I heard a friend say that we should start the Christmas season with laughter. I think it sounds like a grand idea! A merry heart is a good medicine, or so I've read (see Proverbs 17:22).
Christmas is a time to be merry. It is a season of joy because the Good News has been shared with us. God loved us so much that He sent His Son to make a way for us to be reconciled to God. I can laugh about that. It is not a laughter that is skeptical, or deriding. It is a laughter that bubbles up from within and spills out in a joyful noise. I am sure that God would love to see His children smile and praise Him through the joyful noise of laughter because they are free from the eternal consequences of sin.
Yes, there are still many consequences of sin that we endure here on earth, but eternally we will live forever in a beautiful sin-free place! Can you hear the angels laughing with praise over us? I sometimes think I can. They see Gods amazing grace cover our sin and they laugh with glee knowing that God has done a wondrous thing in us!
So, the question I offer you today is, will you laugh with me this Christmas? Join me in a symphony of praising God that bubbles up from deep within and showers the world with the joy we know in Christ Jesus our Savior; the Son of God, born under a star, laid in a manger, lived a perfect life so He could be the Lamb that was slain for the sins of the world. Let's laugh!
Joyful Lord, God of Merry hearts, You gave us a Spirit who seals our hearts with joy! You Are worthy to be praised with all our being. Thank You for Christmas! Thank You for all it means for the world. I want to splash in your love until my joy bubbles up into laughter for the wonders that You have given me! Let the laughter grow!

God Sighting!
Prayers answered, a surprise even though it was expected! God is moving. It may have seemed slow for so long but finally a big move has been made.
God is huge! It His time and His way He cannot be stopped! I'd like to give all the details but for now I am praising God. He has taken us through a long and sometimes arduous journey. He has never failed us even when He has moved slowly to the end we have all longed. He is good and trustworthy and today we celebrate who He is more than what He has done!
Yes, all He has done is great and worthy of praise, but He Himself is more than enough!
God, our Father, Lord, King, Friend, You are more than enough and yet You have given more than we deserve! You give us what we desire in our hearts. You give us life abundantly! Thank You for this surprise gift of Your faithful action on our behalf! Thank You for being good! Complete the good work You have begun in us and through us. We give You the glory!

Grommers' Advertisement
I found a surprise email in my inbox last night. It was an email from my dreamer Granddaughter, Paige. I will forever cherish this email. It was sent to about ten people that she has in her address book. The surprise was that it was an advertisement for me!
Paige took one of my poems, typed it up and sent it out with the message that the recipients should forward it to their contacts. She wanted everyone to know about me. Reading her praise of me gave me a feeling of being loved and honored. Yes, I will always remember and cherish her act of praise for me.
Giving praise and honor to those we admire is an act of love. Love compels us to speak out and share with others what God is doing in our lives and who He is to us! Paige has shown great love to me and in turn I can show my love for her.
Praise and worship is not one sided. We lift our voices to the One who is worthy, He, in turn, responds by accepting our sacrifice of praise and filling our hearts with His love and presence!
I know that joy from God and from Paige! Have you experienced it?
God, thank you so much for Paige and her heart that is created to love completely and without shame! Draw her close to You. Let Your Spirit grow in her till she is compelled to share You and Your wonderful deeds with the world! Thanks for speaking to me through her email!

My Birthday Praise
Today is a wonderful day to praise my Father in Heaven for His wonderful gift of life! Today is my 58th birthday!
Waking up this morning to birthday greetings from my family was very nice. My mind began to contemplate the day and all that it means. With those thoughts I could not help but lift my grateful heart to the One who knit me together in my Mother's womb, the One who placed me in my family and country, who creatively put me together in unique combination of body and soul, and who has delighted in redeeming me from my sins and filling me with His Spirit! WOW! Life is amazing when we look to our Creator Father!
Father, You are so good to me! Thank You for 58 years of life touched by Your love.I lift my voice to praise You for Life here on earth and life eternally through Your Son!

Gratitude
It is always time for gratitude!
Thanksgiving should be with us year round. Our hearts should overflow with the abundance of gratefulness for all God has given us. It is truly a terrible thing to forget the good we have when only some things in our lives are going wrong.
How quickly we forget to thank God for the lessons learned from past experiences, good or bad. In all that is given to us in our lives we can find a blessing. Yes, it may take some distance or a length of time, but because God is good all the time certainly we can see His help, His teaching, His love, His protection, His presence, or just HIM.
It is when we clothe our minds and hearts with gratitude that we are finally able to experience love. We can be loved and give love more fully!
God, You are love! You are all good! You have made Yourself known to us. I praise You today and always for everything that happens in my life. Open my eyes to see the blessings I have each day. Fill my heart with gratitude. I choose to see all my life from Your point of view so that I will know the good outweighs the bad! Thank You!

Palm Sunday
Did you shout praises to God today? Did you rejoice in His greatness and triumph? What will you do tomorrow?
Yes, tomorrow comes and the routine falls back into place for most of us. We seldom take time to sing Gods' praises or even whisper an alleluia throughout the day.
My friend Will is stricken with MS. It has affected his vocal cords and so he is unable to9 speak much, but the words he uses are praise to God. He does not waste his precious few words in complaint, questions or idle chatter. He simply says "Alleluia"
I am convicted that many of my words could be seen by the Most High God as fruitless and even harmful. Today I did shout my praises like the people shouted out "Alleluias" to Jesus as He entered Jerusalem. Tomorrow I must not forget who He is or I may find myself following the crowd to Golgatha shouting "Crucify Him!" Everyday must be focused on Jesus' Kingship over my life.
Most High God, Your praises are to be shouted every day. You alone deserves the constant adoration from my lips. Let it be so!

Taking the Time
Take time to enjoy a sunset or sunrise. Yesterday my granddaughters were out playing and ran in excitedly yelling at me. "Grommers! You have to come see the sky!" They were so excited that I didn't hesitate but grabbed a jacket and headed outside.
WOW! It was magnificent! I immediately shouted out to God. I praised Him for the beauty and the wonderful blessing it was to see His light shine. I then ran in side to get my camera.
The neighbor kids heard me praising God and asked what that was all about. My granddaughter Paige explained it to them and they then joined me in telling God how beautiful He painted the sky! What joy to hear little ones shout his praise!
What are you taking time to do? Maybe enjoying God's majestic creation of your body? Or maybe taking time to read His word and discovering the treasure that lies within each verse!
